Mill Valley Tourist Club

Mill Valley Tourist Club

Mill Valley Tourist Club If you ever find yourself heading over the Golden Gate Bridge to enjoy the natural spoils of Marin County, be sure not to miss a visit to the Tourist Club. Nestled in amongst the towering redwood trees looking out over Muir Woods, the Mill Valley Tourist Club is home to the San Francisco branch of the global Nature Friends organization. Founded in 1912 by a group of Austrian and German Nature Friends living in the San Francisco Bay Area, the clubhouse is now a private facility for use of its members. However, the club often opens their doors to the public for the occasional German culture festival and Guest Weekends during the summer. Generally open from 1pm-5pm on both Saturday and Sunday, you can refresh with beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks, and light snacks as you enjoy the shaded patio perched on the side of Mt. Tamalpais.

The Tourist Club can be reached only by foot - either by the Sun Trail or the Redwood Trail.
