The Marker Hotel After quite a few years struggling through a sluggish economy, things are finally looking up for Ireland, no better evidenced than with the new Marker Hotel in Dublin. After pumping €124 million into the rebuild, the Marker is now one of the Leading Hotels of the World, opening last April. The 184 geometric rooms in this ultra-modern structure are classically decorated, with all the latest amenities. Gaze out your floor to ceiling window at commuters crossing the harp shaped Samuel Beckett Bridge or water enthusiasts wake boarding and SUPing right off the dock in Grand Canal Square. Located in the trendy Silicon Dock area of Dublin, you may find yourself rubbing elbows with Larry Page or Mark Zuckerberg at the ground floor cafe and bar, as the European HQs for Facebook and Google sit just next door. If you need any more proof as to the utter hipness of the Marker, the hotel sells a limited number of cronuts (4 piece box for €10), with various glazes and fillings, each day from 8am. The hotel is an easy stroll to all the main attractions, as is most everywhere in Dublin. For those who need a little pampering after a day of playing tourist, the wellness spa offers plenty of restorative treatments and boasts a stunning infinity pool—a rare find in the center of the city. On a warm summer's night, be sure to grab a drink amongst the fabulous set at the open-air rooftop bar and watch the sun set on the city, sea, and nearby Wicklow Mountains.
